Sponsor Buddy
We found Buddy and Moonie at a small ranch in Waimanalo in late 2019. Their former owner, who is now in Texas, had received a call about two miniature horses being near death and ended up rescuing them. Bringing them to her ranch and with the help of her daughter they were able to save the mini’s. Within a few weeks of our introduction to them the owner gifted us Buddy and Moonie and we are grateful to have them at our ranch. They will both be an inspiration because of the story of their rescue, through love and grace, and the chance they have to continue to live healthy and happy lives.

Sponsor Hope
Hope was our first horse. Hope was just three years old and was a birthday gift for Tracy. That was sixteen years ago. There are so many experiences, of a deep and personal nature, that we have had with her including patiently providing rides and love to nieces, nephews, friends, and now grandchildren. Hope also took daughter Azure, twice to state finals qualifying her for Nationals on both occasions. Hope’s loyalty and compassion for her human family and friends is unprecedented. She became the inspiration for Manaolana Ranch, meaning Hope in Hawaiian. We are so grateful that she can be a part of sharing the mission of Manaolana Ranch and can continue to touch the lives of many children and their families.
Sponsor Cosmo
Cosmo was our fourth horse. We were in pursuit of preparing for an equine therapy experience and felt we needed another horse and searched between Hawaii island and Kauai. We found him on Kauai and flew over to meet and get a feel for him. We were told by the former owners that he was abused, and they found him restrained in a dilapidated holding area on a small run down unkept property on Kauai. We knew he had to be ours. We have come to love him dearly. He has grown to trust us and we in turn have had to trust him.
Sponsor Akamai
Akamai is our latest addition to our home. She just made two years old. The former owner had difficulty selling her because she was not growing normally. Upon seeing Akamai, Tracy insisted she looked more like a llama than a horse because of her long straight hair covering her entire body. Akamai has turned into a beautiful smaller horse and has since lost the llama look. She is so very curious about everything and anything and has no problem getting up close and personal. She is still in training and we cannot wait for the day when she can work with the children that come to Manaolana Ranch.
